Plant "UDM-N" for smelting high-alloy steels and heat-resistant nickel-based alloys

The "UDM-N" plant is designed for melting high-alloy steels and nickel-based heat-resistant alloys in a vacuum or in an inert gas environment and pouring into ceramic molds according to lost wax models, ensuring the introduction of modifiers and alloys into the melt stream.

The "UDM-N" design includes several functional blocks:
- Melting chamber with melting unit;
- Airlock chamber;
- Slide valve, which ensures loading and unloading of poured molds without depressurization of the melting chamber;
- A loading device that ensures loading of the charge into the crucible without depressurization of the melting chamber;
- A device for introducing modifiers and alloys into the stream of melt being drained in the area of the intermediate funnel;
- Vacuum system;
- Inert gas supply system;
- Automated process control system;
- Cooling system for furnace structural elements.

The design of the melting plant "UDM-N" is equipped with a replaceable crucible with a stuffed lining with a capacity of 120 kg for steel. The energy part of the furnace ensures melting of the metal in a time interval of 30 - 40 minutes.
The molds are poured in the melting chamber from a crucible through an intermediate pouring funnel installed in a special device, which is an element of the furnace design.
